where 是对地点的提问。这叫特殊疑问句。

上海在哪儿？它在东部。   Where is Shanghai ?It's in the east .

三亚是中国著名的城市。   Sanya is a famous city in China .

注意“中国著名的城市”顺序是先说“a famous city ”再说“in China ”.：

旧金山是美国著名的城市。   San Francisco is a famous city in America .

What happened to ?什么什么怎么了？to 后面接发生问题的人、身体某部分或什么东西。

happen 在这儿要用其过去式happened 。

你的自行车怎么了？   What happened to your bike ?

你的腿怎么了？   What happened to your leg ?

昨天我和萨姆去骑自行车了。   Sam and I went for a bike ride yesterday .

去骑自行车。   go for a bike ride

a bike ride 这是个名词短语，不能用作谓语动词，其中ride 是名词。

ride a bike 也是骑自行车，这个短语是动词短语，它能做谓语动词，ride 在这个短语中是动词。

萨姆喜欢骑自行车。   Sam likes riding a bike .
