on 在    上面 。表示与下面的物体互相接触，紧挨着。

 over  在   上面，表示与下面的物体不接触，两个物体之间有一定距离 。

许多小汽车在路上。 There are many cars on the roads.

 桥在河上。The bridge is over the river.

当表示在树上时，in 与 on 的不同用法：当表示人或其他动物在树上时，(外来物)用in；

当表示树本身的东西如树叶、果实在树上时，用 on 。

鸟在大树上，苹果在小树上。 The bird is in the big tree and the apples are on the small tree .
